Description
During the war with Irak those of us who lived in America and who had no family or friends in the war, were reminded of it at times through the news on TV, radio or newspapers. It was the first time as an adult that I saw War and its horrors. It made me think of all the people living in Irak having to be in the middle of it. This painting is an appropriation of Rodin’s Thinker in the 21st century. It is a self portrait study reflecting on the news read on the pages of the newspaper about this war.
